Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions are applicable to all courses booked by you with MLI International Schools Ireland and/or MLI International Schools UK.

1. Definitions

  • Course: Residential and host family language courses run by MLI
  • Fee: The fee charged by MLI for each Student on each Course may be notified to you from time to time.
  • Initial Deposit: 15% of the Fee
  • MLI: MLI International Schools Limited
  • Us/Our/We: MLI
  • Student: Any person booked to attend a course
  • You: Any person who books courses with MLI on behalf of Students.

2. Deposits and Payments

  • No booking can be confirmed unless an initial deposit is received by MLI
  • The interim deposit in respect of each booking shall be paid on or before 15th of April each year for summer courses. Failure to pay the Interim deposit may result in the booking being cancelled.
  • The balance of all fees shall be payable 4 weeks before the commencement of each Course.
  • All Fees are payable in Euro, for courses in Ireland, or sterling, for courses in the UK.
  • For payments made by Bank Transfer it is your responsibility to ensure that full payment (including all bank charges) is received in our bank without any deductions within the appropriate time.
  • Invoices will be addressed to the person or company names on the booking form unless MLI are otherwise requested in writing.
  • Payment can be made by debit/credit card but will be subject to a 2% service charge. Where payments are made by debit/credit card any balance of fees due will be automatically deducted 4 weeks before the start of a course.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

  • In the event of cancellation of a booking, you must inform us as soon as possible. cancellation fees will be charged as follows:
  • More than 30 days before arrival, Initial deposit will be retained or become payable where not already paid.
  • Less than 30 days before arrival, all monies paid or due to be paid shall be retained or become payable as the case may be.
  • MLI will not refund any fee once the course has commenced.
  • No refunds of Fees will be given for days missed by Students during the course or for late arrival or earlier departure or for public holidays
  • In the case of students who require a visa, bookings will not be confirmed until full fees have been paid. Should the visa be refused all course Fees will be refunded with the exception of the administrative fees (€150 for Irish courses or £125 for UK courses).

4. Course Change

  • MLI reserves the right to change or cancel a course, venue or facilities (‘Course Change’), without prior notice in the event of
  • Unforeseen circumstances beyond its control; or
  • Where the level of bookings received does not reach the minimum number required to operate a course viably. In this case MLI will notify you at least 90 days before the start of the course.
  • In the event of a course change MLI will offer you
  • An alternative course, venue or facilities or
  • Refund (of any Fees Paid) therefor you agree that they shall have no further claim against MLI in respect of any course change.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • You shall procure
  • That all students have all necessary passports, consent, permits and visas;
  • That all students have appropriate travel and/or health insurance;
  • That parental/guardian consent in writing has been obtained in respect of any Students under the age of 18 at the time of booking.
  • To the extent relevant or applicable, that these terms and conditions are imposed on students and agreed by the students parent and/guardians.
  • All students and/guardians have been furnished with the Student Handbook and code of behaviour for students and that they a signed acknowledgement has been received.
  • All Course Leaders have agreed to the Group Leader Responsibilities.
  • Promotional Material
  • MLI may take photographs and videos during our courses which we may use for promotional purposes. We shall assume that you have procured the consent of Student parents or guardians for the Students to appear in such promotional material unless we have been otherwise informed by you.

6. Limitation on Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither MLI nor any of its directors, employees, affiliates or other representatives will be liable for loss or damages arising out of or in connection with the provision of services by MLI.
  • MLI shall not accept responsibility, whether to you or students for any loss or damage incurred due to
  • Any property belonging to the students;
  • Injury or loss of life to any student;
  • Loss or expenses due to delays or changes in air, rail, sea or other services, weather, quarantine, sickness, strikes or
  • Any other cause save to the extent such loss is as a result of any negligent act of omission of MLI or its agents or servants.

7. Students

  • MLI accepts students on the assumption that they are in good health unless otherwise informed by you.
  • All sports and activities are undertaken at Students’ own risk.
  • Student Illness
  • In case of illness or injury MLI will follow the advice of the attending medical consultant unless advised otherwise by the parent/guardian.
  • Each centre is registered with a local medical practice/hospital/doctor.
  • Student may be charged for a consultation with a doctor.
  • In case of medical emergency, all students are taken to the nearest Accident and Emergency Hospital.
  • MLI reserve the right to take any fair and reasonable action we think appropriate should a situation arise not covered by these Terms.
  • MLI will redirect to you any students who may approach MLI directly in the following years.

8. Health & Safety

  • MLI International schools have a full health and Safety procedure in place in all Summer schools. Risk assessments have been carried out for all MLI activities and excursions.
  • All students receive an induction on day one and all Health & safety information is displayed on the welfare notice board.

9. Waiver

  • The failure to exercise or delay in exercising a right or remedy under these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of the right or remedy or a waiver of any other rights or remedies.
  • No single or partial exercise of any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall prevent any further exercise of the right or remedy or the exercise of any other right or remedy.

10. Law & Jurisdiction

  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ireland and the parties hereby submit to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
