Here at MLI International Schools, the welfare and safeguarding of our students is of upmost importance. We want everyone to have a fantastic stay with us, full of new and fun experiences, but we want everyone to be safe too. Here are some details on the level of care we dedicate to our students:

  • Each centre has a dedicated Welfare officer who, along with the rest of the MLI Staff, ensures the well-being of all our students. The Welfare Officer also has a 24 hour mobile number in case the students need to contact him/her.
  • Supervision – all MLI lessons, activities and excursions are well-supervised by MLI staff and the group leaders accompanying the students from their home countries. Students do have free time every day but staff periodically patrol the centre campuses to make sure everyone is safe and happy.
  • Safety Cards – all students have their safety card with them during their time with us which shows the centre name, address and emergency number.
  • Road Safety – all students are taught about road rules and are given a ‘Road Safety’ card to carry to remind them to be safe.
  • MLI centres operate a Buddy System, to ensure that no student is alone at any time.
  • Students must abide by the MLI Student Code of Conduct
  • MLI takes the issue of bullying very seriously and it will not be tolerated. Any student found to be bullying another will be sent home immediately at their own expense.
  • All students receive a lesson on Cyberbullying and Internet Safety to teach them how to be safe online.
  • Our Staff Code of Conduct gives details of appropriate behaviour around our under-18 students. For example, staff must avoid physical contact with students and must not have any contact with students via phone, email or on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • All staff receive Level 1 and 2 Safeguarding training and further refresher training is provided to returnee staff every year. MLI also has a comprehensive Safeguarding Policy which you will find on our website.
  • Risk assessments are carried out for all activities and excursions to make sure they are safe and suitable for our students.
