MLI runs a number of Junior Summer Centres throughout Ireland. We operate a full programme consisting of tuition, activities and excursions. We offer residential and host family accommodation options. The Junior Programme is open to students aged from 11 to 17.

Residential Centre

ucd_1.jpgMLI are proud to offer the very highest standards in residential facilities for students. These university campus residences provide the latest ‘student village’ style environments with sports and recreational facilities all onsite. Due to the exceptional quality of these facilities places on our residential programmes are very much in demand. We recommend clients book early to avoid disappointment.

Residential centres offer full-board accommodation. All meals are provided on campus and consist of: breakfast, hot lunch (Monday to Friday), packed lunch (Saturday & Sunday) and hot evening meal. There are menu options each day. Lunch and dinner are comprised of two courses.

The rooms are cleaned and the bed-linen is changed weekly (for procedures regarding cleaning please contact MLI, as they vary from centre to centre).

Students follow a full activity programme consisting of one full-day excursion and one half-day excursion off campus per week, with a wide range of sports activities, afternoon and evening activities each day on campus. Students can also choose from a wide range of options which can be booked by the MLI activity manager.

Students in Host Families

Students can choose a packed lunch from the host family or have a hot lunch on campus from Monday to Friday (hot lunch - optional extra). Students who wish to stay in host family must advise in their application forms of any special requirements, medical details or allergies.

Host family stays are based on twin room accommodation. A limited number of single rooms are available, early booking is advisable.

Tuition Programme

MLI’s renowned tuition programme provides an exciting and engaging learning experience designed to maximise student participation. Students on MLI’s summer programme are exposed to a specially customised ‘short course’ syllabus interlaced with Irish cultural and youth-related topics. Particular emphasis is placed on speaking, listening and group communication activities.

The MLI summer syllabus is a ground-breaking distillation of the most up-to-date EFL resources ensuring the highest and most consistent fotolia_12703777_xs.jpgteaching standards.

Students are given a written (oxford) and oral test on arrival and placed in a class appropriate to their age and level of English. At the end of the course students are given a parchment certificate which details each student’s achievements and their level in accordance with the Council of Europe’s CEF standards.

Students who are interested in doing a Trinity College London examination must advise when booking their course.

School Group

boat_trip.jpgThese are closed group courses and are based on a minimum of 10 students. These run from September to June only. Students are tested and placed in a group according to linguistic ability.

These courses are particularly suited to school groups and combine with social and cultural programmes in the afternoons and weekends.
Groups are placed in host family accommodation with full board in the surrounding areas of Dublin city. Great care is taken to place all of the students near to each other and within a 30 minute journey from the school.
