Host Family Accommodation / Homestays can be arranged for students who wish to live with an local family for a cultural stay in Ireland or the UK. Irish and British people have a tradition of hospitality and warmth which is renowned all over the world and has been a major factor in attracting thousands of students to study English in both countries.
A Host Family stay offers students the opportunity to study English in a homely setting and find out more about Irish or British culture. They will have the opportunity to improve their English at home with the family as well as in class, and will experience first hand the cultural differences between their family environment and the Irish or British family environment. Host families are encouraged to involve the student in their normal family life, helping the student adapt to a new lifestyle and making the student's stay enjoyable and beneficial.
The role of a host family is to offer a student accommodation with full board througout their stay. The Host Family will collect the student from the pre-arranged meeting point with a warm welcome. Over the first few days the family will help the student settle in showing them the easiest and best way to get to school each day.
As well as this the Host Family should provide:
- Clean accommodation with a single bed per student and adequate furniture together with access to communal areas of the house and allow adequate daily access to the bathroom.
- Sensitivity to the students needs to improve their English and to encourage conversation with the student

- Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner 7 days per week on a balanced and nutritious diet
- Show the students the bus/walking route to and from the house to the school
- To provide one laundry service per week
